In such cases of emergency, either the woman herself or any other person on her behalf can give information of the incident of domestic violence to a PO (Protection Officer) or SP even through email or telephone. This can be done anytime during the day or even at night. The PO or SP will then herself go to the place where the incident has taken place with the police and record the DIR (Domestic Incident Report). They will then immediately present this DIR to the Magistrate for an immediate order to make sure that the woman is safe and violence is stopped [Rule 9].
