Checking the e-challan status
Follow the below-mentioned steps to check the status of an e-challan in Hyderabad:
1. Visit the website https://www.echallan.org/.
2. The web page will automatically take you to the page which requires you to give detail to know your e-challan status.
3. On the webpage, enter the vehicle number including any missing zeros along with the verification Captcha image.
4. After you enter Go, the website will show you any pending challans against the vehicle.
5. In case there are no challans against the vehicle then the web page will inform about the same.
6. The website allows users to report any discrepancies in the challans. There is a Report To Us option which can be used by the user if the website shows any wrong information like showing the wrong image of the car next to the registered vehicle number or displaying the wrong challan or if double challans have been issued.
Paying the e-challan online
In order to make payment for e-challan in Hyderabad, follow the steps given below:
1. Visit the website https://www.esevaonline.telangana.gov.in/.
2. Click on the Register option and enter in all details that are asked for.
3. After registering, return to the webpage of https://www.esevaonline.telangana.gov.in.
4. At the home screen, click on the Pay Bill option.
5. The option will lead you to a page asking you to log in.
6. Upon logging into the website, click on ‘You want to pay Hyderabad Police Traffic Challan’ option.
7. If no such option appears on your screen, then you can also on the tab titled Add More Services on the top left corner of the page and therein select Hyderabad Traffic Challan option.
8. You will not be asked to fill in your vehicle number.
9. Upon clicking the submit button, a lost of e-challan against the submitted vehicle number will be displayed.
10. Multiple e-challans can be paid off together by selecting all of them together.
11. Having selected the e-challan that you want to pay, enter the submit button and the page will direct you to the next page which shows the total amount to be paid.
12. Having agreed to the terms, the page will then direct to the ICICI Bank Payment page wherein the payment of the challan can now be made.

Rules for Number Plate Registration in Hyderabad
Given below are the rules for how the vehicle registration number should be displayed in Hyderabad. At the very outset, vehicle number plate cannot carry any artwork, name or pictures on them except for the marks of vehicle registration. Moreover, such marks of registration cannot be in fancy lettering or fonts. All the letters in the number plate should be written in English and all numbers have to be displayed in Arabic numerals. In case where the registration number falls in two lines, then the state code (AP) as well the code of the registration authority should be in the first line and the rest of the registration number should in the second lone below it.
All private vehicles’ registration number should be in black font on a white background and the registration number can be written in either one or two lines.
For all commercial vehicles, except those cabs within the scheme of rent a cab, the background colour should be yellow and the font of the registration number should be black. The registration number should be written two lines only.
